Arizona Shooting

After researching about the shooting something I thought was interesting was Jared Lee loughner (the shooter age 22) attended a community college last year and a fellow classmate, Don Coorough turned in two of his poems to share with everyone after this incident. The poems were titled "Meat Head" and "Dead as a Dodo". I feel as some criminals are on heavy drugs, depressed at the time and they decide to do something rebellious to hurt others but I think that Mr. Loughner is mentally unbalanced and has been for a long period of time. The things he was writing about I cant imagine how someone can think of those things. Loughner's parents were interviewed and said "we care very deeply about the victims families". I think that's nice of them they feel so sorry but I think that many criminals act they way they do because of issues during there childhood (abuse, drugs, not feeling loved). I think the only good that can come from this tragedy is bringing there families and friends together to help one another.

Maria, it makes me think that sometimes in writing, we can see how a person's brain truly works, or does not work. Those poems sound dark and depressing!
